Chocolate Chip Cookies
This is my go‑to recipe for soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies. Perfect for sharing with friends and family.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp hot water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Grease cookie sheets or line them with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add this to the batter along with salt.
- Stir in flour and chocolate chips until just combined.
- Drop by large spoonfuls onto your prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for about 10 minutes, or until edges are nicely browned. Let cool on wire racks.
