Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is my go‑to recipe for soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies. Perfect for sharing with friends and family.

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Grease cookie sheets or line them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  3. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add this to the batter along with salt.
  4. Stir in flour and chocolate chips until just combined.
  5. Drop by large spoonfuls onto your prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until edges are nicely browned. Let cool on wire racks.
